Eggceptional Edibles!

Easter is fast approaching and just about a million things come with Easter! I mean of course there are all the eggs (dozen, after dozen!)! There are the Easter baskets for those children filled with that grass that get's everywhere and those adorable toys. There is the candy, all that candy (drives me crazy!)! Then last but not least the main event the food! All the food! After those children finish running around for those eggs they want food! Food! Food! Food! (Don't children always want food though? Maybe it's just an excuse to eat ;D) There are tons of things to make whether they are Easter related or not. The fun of the holidays though is creating all those unique holiday oriented plates and dishes of endless food! Here is a list of eggsquisite edibles for everyone!

Eggsquisite Edibles!

  •  A very delicious treat that everyone will love is the moderately traditional Easter egg shaped rice crispy treats! You will require plastic eggs (optional), 3 Tablespoons of butter

or margarine, 4 cups of mini marshmallows or 10oz of regular (I prefer the mini), and 6 cups of Kelloggs Rice Krispies! If you are using the plastic eggs, wash em out real good and put a little bit of cooking spray inside. Melt the butter on low heat, add marshmallows and stir until completely melted, Add the cereal and stir until well covered in the gooey mixture! Let the mixture cool and portion (If you love colors like I do after portioning some out, use food dye and dye it Easter colors!) and then using buttery hands shape into Easter eggs and let sit! BAM! Adorable edible eggs! If you chose you can mix M&M's into the mixture or Cocoa Krispies!

Another adorable idea brought to you by my friends' mother is bunny cars!

  • All you need is elongated snack cakes (Like Twinkies), Peeps Bunnies, Mini Pretzels, and Large Marshmallows cut in half! Cut a cube out of the top of the snack cake and place the half-mallows (ha!) 2 on each side of the snack cake (like a car!). Place the adorable bunny inside and place the pretzel upside down! BAM! Bunny Cars!

  • A very simple treat is to make up a batch of chocolate chip cookies but instead of chocolate chips use M&M's Easter selection or Robin Eggs! I prefer Robin Eggs MMMM!!
  • Now if you wanna do something creative with Peeps you can also bring a pot of water to boiling and place another pot on top with dipping chocolate (Or chocolate chips) and dips the peeps in! Let sit and devour! Delicious!
  •  Now for that Eggcellent Easter Dinner you created you can have some Bunny Bread with it! You can use a home made dough or frozen bread dough! While baking the dough balls after they start getting unfrozen take a pair of scissors and snip twice on the top in the form of ears and then poke twice on the face for the look of eyes!

Hop back into my blog for the next two days for more Eggstraordinary Ideas so you can have a Eggcellent Easter before and after!

Too Many Eggs, Not Enough Ideas!

If ya'll didn't know Easter is comin up on Sunday (I didn't know until today!)! It just snuck up on me and threw a few egg's at me as well. For all those people preparing and going crazy with all those eggs haunting the fridge and those baskets lurking somewhere here are a few good  ideas! So let's think, What comes with Easter? Children, food, eggs, eggs, baskets, food coloring, eggs, newspaper to prevent children from dying your new lovely table, and wait MORE eggs! Oh and don't forget that fake grass and oh honey, the candy, all that fantastic candy! Here are some Eggcellent ideas for Easter!

Eggcellent Ideas!

  • Take your ready to color eggs, white shaving cream and colored food dye. Mix the shaving cream with a color of food dye (Gives it a tie-dye look) and roll the egg in it then let it dry and wipe away! BAM tie-dye eggs!

  •  After your eggs are hard boiled and all that jazz take them and lightly tap them on the table til cracks appear all over. Place in water with dye in it and let them sit (You know the
drill honey). After they sit pull and slowly peel off the shell and BAM Crackle designed eggs! (You can also eat them if you want, deviled eggs mmmmmm!)

  • Take your eggs and use that lovely white waxy crayon and write whatever you want on the eggs, Peace, Love, Happiness, Happy Easter, Your children's names, Whatever you feel like. Put black food coloring in water in a glass and place the eggs inside! Let sit however long and pull out! BAM eggs with names!

  •  Take your lovely hard boiled eggs and place in colored water. Use clear paint on glue (Glue with a brush) in small amounts on small areas of the egg. Place gold tinted foil over it and let sit. Then slowly peel off the foil from around the egg and BAM gold/other colored eggs!
  •  A great idea to do in late day time is to have Glow in the Dark eggs! Buy plastic eggs and buy glow stick bracelets (Dollar Store, Walmart, Target, Grocery Store) and of course some candy along with some tape! Place a little bit of candy in the egg and snap the glow stick (So it glows) and twist up and place inside the egg! Then tape the outside because that glow stick wants to get out! Then hide and BAM! Glowing eggs (I might keep this for Halloween)!

Stay tuned for more Eggciting Ideas throughout the next few days for a very Eggcellent Easter!

Russia! No? Yes!

I have been studying the Russian language for three years going on four. All I have to say is I wish I started learning it earlier! It tough to learn at first, they have a completely different alphabet with 33 letters with all different sounds! It's an absolutely beautiful language to learn! It seems as though everything is backwards in their language though! In English we say "He is a very smart boy", but then in Russian it would be "Very Smart boy he is". It just goes on and on! Once you think you have one thing down BAM there are now special cases to that rule, BAM now there is a completely different way to use it and when! OH LORDY!! Yet I absolutely love the language and I can't tell you how I feel when I hear someone speaking Russian and I know what their saying and I turn to them and say "Hello" in Russian, It's godly.

For all of those adults who plan on having children or already have children START THEM LEARNING A LANGUAGE AT A YOUNG AGE! That is the best time to learn one! Your brain catches on to the language a lot easier when your a child rather than when you're an adult! My younger brother is 10 and he catches on to it SO fast, I could tell him a word or a sentence and BAM he has it down immediately! It makes me jealous, I wish I could have learned or been taught such a unique language as a child! Now I know you guys are saying 'Why Russian? Their Communists!". They are not communists anymore AND there are less than 4000 Russian translators in the U.S. and Translating will never go out of style because not everyone on earth will learn every language! Thus it is a timeless job that will always be required! If you're not all over the Russian idea then start having your children learn Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Arabic etc.. It's a timeless job and a useful skill! IF you don't want to pay out the door prices for a tutor send your child to an international school! There are children from all over there and the best way to learn a language is to be submerged in it! So don't put languages off when it could create your future or your children's! Too Many Animals!

Is there such a thing as 'Too many animals'? Yes I believe there is! But their all SO cute (Especially when their puppies or kittens!). I go into the pet stores ALL the time and I must avoid the rodent section. I am a RODENT lover! Gerbil's, Hamsters and Guinea Pigs OH MY!I
My beloved Mr. Nibbles
will just buy em' all, they say in Pokémon 'Catch em' all' well that's my life with rodents. Sadly I do not have any currently (My grandmother is a nay-sayer of the rodents). When I was little I volunteered at the local pet store and bred gerbil's and ended up having quite the collection of tubes and cages! Now I have no where to put em I have so many (Rollin-Rollin-Rollin in the cages!).

Vera!
There are tons of pet's to choose from! There are Rodents (Woo!), Dogs (Got plenty of those), Cats (Diva's of the animal world), Fish, Horses and the list can go on and on! I as of right now have four dogs! I have my big mutt Scout, My lovely pit-bull Tabatha, My ferret like creature Vera, Then Vera's sister of unknown decent Odi! Scout is old and grumpy but refined, I wish Tabatha was quiet, but she is hyper and a non-stop ball of pure muscle and energy! Vera is my baby and she is tiny and precious and Odi is her sister but they have separate fathers but the same litter (had no idea that could even happen, but it can!).

Odi (Vera's sister)
I've tried my fair share of cats and fish. My family used to breed cats (Persian-Himalayan's), Now those are precious kittens but never again! You can love kittens to the end of the planet and back (I do) but that long fur is just a pain in the butt! I do currently have a cat named Roxie (Roxie is a male but named after Roxie from Chicago), then I had my lovely kitty Oliver (Named after the movie Oliver!) and they are absolutely precious! The best toys I have ever given them was a bunch of beads in a sock with elastic tied around the top and tied to a door-knob.

I know plenty of people who buy tons of toys for their lovely pets and all I can say is I spent a fair amount of money of toys for my dogs. I've bought Vera tons of toys! I've bought her stuffed ones, squeaky ones, smelly ones, weird ones, even rubber ones, But she took notice of em for maybe 5 minutes then never touched em again.
One day my grandmother and I were just sitting in the computer room and we heard a weird clanking noise, I looked outside and it was Vera playing with a play-doh cup empty, with nothing in it. That has been her favorite toy for about three months now. It was left outside from my brother and it will stay outside. I don't know what it is about that toy but to this day it is her favorite. So I suppose that could count as a lesson! Don't spend tons of money on dog toys when the best one could be something as simple as a play-doh cup or a sock with beads! Stay tuned in for more life lessons from Ashley!

Spring Break Cleaning?

Most teenagers on Spring Break are hanging out with their friends, going on dates, going to parties, where as I on the other hand watch RuPauls Drag Race and decide to start cleaning.

I absolutely despise messy things, I have always been a pretty clean person. I keep everything neat and organized (Even with my excessive knick-knacks). I love cleaning, I love the look of areas being clean and open unlike my little brother. Yes, he is only 10 years old but boy does he collect dishes! I wish he kept them clean and organized. My grandmother has excessive amount of knick knacks as well (I think she gave the disease to me). So I woke up this morning just feeling the need to clean! I pulled everything off my bed and stuffed it in the washer after nagging my brother to get the close out of the washer that he offered to wash first. He loves to offer to help but when he offers the underlying meaning is "Here, I will do the cloths, then decide I don't want to so you can do the rest". So as I type this the washer is going and going and my grandmother I believe is working on her blogs as well (Still trying to teach me how to do cool things, I already told her she can be the design manager of my blogs!).
I see some people with extremely messy houses and rooms, it drives me crazy! Here come sit on my bug infested couch and enjoy a fresh glass of lemonade with Oh! with a bug in the glass. No thank you. So all of you people, I know my blog is becoming so tantalizing that you can't bear to walk away from it, but get up and clean!

Tips from Ashley's Corner

  •       For those guys who love their cars out there as well as women, You know that bottle of Power Steering fluid you have or that bottle of break fluid? Well You can use those bottles to get that white film off your headlights! Just take an old shop rag and dab some of the fluid onto it and rub over your headlights! BAM! No white film! The bottle of break fluid works well with taking some oxidation off of cars as well as trucks. I have a truck (1998 Ford f150!) Now for those of you out there also with trucks, take the break fluid and put some on a rag and rub it on the liner of your bed! You know when it goes from a deep clean lovely grey to a light spotty grey, it takes it back to it's beautiful color! It takes a few treatments though.

  •  Any of ya'll have any kids that just LOVE to stick stickers all over your new windows? Take a bit of break fluid, put a little bit on a rag and rub it on the window and it'll take it right off! It also works great with taking old tint off if you have a little bit left, but for that you require a razor blade. Lastly! Remember to use a bit of window cleaner afterwards to make that window beauteous!
  • Did you know that newspaper works best for cleaning windows with window cleaner? I had no idea.

    • Anyone have those pesky ants roaming the home? Home Owner vs. Ants. Well my grandma and I did this, We boiled hot water and put salt in it while it was boiling, let it cool, and placed it inside a spray bottle and sprayed the walls, it worked to keep em off the walls and the counters, also if you sprinkle cinnamon powder it works, but it looks so bad! The best way to get rid of them is to locate the ant hill though.

    • Diatomaceous Earth works wonders on just about everything, well everything with an exoskeleton! If you get the food grade one it's fully organic (Won't harm your pets if they ingest a bit, same with children). You can get it from Lowes (not food grade but still wonderful, and amazon. Just remember it dehydrates the exoskeleton of the bug so it does takes about two weeks, however it does kill eggs too which most other bug killers do not. It's definitely worth it for the patience.

I know ya'll are thinking 'What teenage girl knows this?'. Well Ashley does! I learn things quick and love cleaning! I have plenty of inventive tips for just about everything! Look at the time! I got so into my blog I forgot about cleaning! Time to finish the laundry and start cleaning! Stay tuned for more from the intricate life of Ashley!

First Post?

First post? First post.

I have had to edit this so many times because the original one had my age and sadly the clock just keeps ticking so that is SO out of date! I am currently 20 as in it's 2016 and I'm 20, so if you're reading this in 2017 I am now 21 etc. I currently have a nice apartment filled with WAY too many animals but what can I say? WELL I can say that I love them and they range from furry to fuzzy to scaly to smooth. I might as well have the animal kingdom myself some days. I love everything and I'm a really happy go lucky gal. My grandmother got me into this blogging thing and I dropped off for a few years due to working, travelling etc. My life is generally insane and that's why this is a blog for everything. I go from reptiles and languages to travelling and baking. I live in the desert and I will say this now yes it is cowboys and the wild wild west. That is the response I get when I travel abroad and I say I live in the desert. The hot, dry, airy, dusty cacti filled landscape that I call home.
I have two brothers and no sisters and besides that the usual family unit. The mother, father, grandparents with all the latest accessories! I don't do much besides work and travel. I have the International bug so to speak so I love languages and other cultures! Freaks my family out! Here is a funny short story. Back in July 2015 I flew off to Russia with my travel buddy Nick! I told my mother a month in advance and all I did was brag about it, needless to say the day I was leaving my mother took off work to spend it with me even though she still didn't believe me and I had to work up until we drove to the airport basically. SO I get home and I'm out again and I was like 'Mom I'm leaving now' and that was when she believed me. Great timing yeah? I think it's a funny tidbit from the past.

In the end I believe everyone deserves to have a great life and I believe in my own personal happiness above everything else. My goal is to be as happy as I can be, learn as many languages as I can, and see the world. I think I'm doing great so far! So stay posted so you can read my posts and see how things are going on my end and I promise to keep you updated especially with all my upcoming travel plans! (See newer posts for more info!)
